Jason Prasifka was named as Director of Bands at Heritage High School in January of 2009. The 09-10 school year will mark his 13th year in education and a return to Frisco ISD after 3 years in Plano, serving as Director of Bands at Shepton High School. Prior to coming to Plano, Mr. Prasifka worked for 9 years in Frisco at Staley MS, Frisco HS, and Centennial HS. Mr. Prasifka's bands have consistently received superior ratings in both marching and concert & sight reading contests and have been awarded Best in Class & Outstanding Performance Awards at music festivals across the state of Texas. At Heritage, Mr. Prasifka will direct the marching band and Wind Ensemble and oversee all aspects of the band program.

His professional affiliations include membership in Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Who's Who Among Americas Teachers.
